Money Maven

Thanks for the post from Al Mills

Being someone who’s concerned about money has gotten me far in life. It helped me save up to buy my first carwhen I was only 17 and now here I am at 26 and I own my house outright. Basically I just try to put very few things on credit and use cash whenever I can – I find it helps me keep my casual spending in check. There’s something to be said for staying in and not eating out as much, going to movies, etc. but I’ve found over the years that there’s a good balance of living your life and trying to cut back where you can. For example, I went to http://www.direct.tv/ and got satellite TV because I WANTED it, not because I couldn’t live without it, and it means I spend more Saturdays at home watching games now than going to sports bars which ultimately saves me money. There are lots of things people can do to get a handle on their spending without totally changing their life.
